Always excited to actually see these guys, usually just hear their hammering-on-wood song. This was taken in very dim light with the 400mm...amazing I could get anything. No flash was used as it was too far away. Attached the camera to the tripod, locked up the mirror and got a couple decent shots! EXIF is wrong, it was actually 8:49pm!!
