Burrton, Kansas

Burrton is off Route 50 and is a ghost town, left far behind many years ago due to the route being built in 1927. There are a few houses that seem occupied. I never saw anyone. The business district is deserted. Some of the buildings have no roof or back wall. I will post some.

Traveling the back roads can lead to some fantastic discoveries. I sense the quiet spirit of this place interrupted only by the sounds of passing trains. This is an image that speaks to me from my past. VV++

This is interesting. The train stations where I am almost always have a water tower as a prominent part of the landscape. I do not recall this in the US, though can't say I actually paid attention at the time.
