A monument originally built by the land owner to assist guidiing enigrants on the way West. This one was built to simulate the original.

A very nice composition against a fantastic cloud formation for nice contrast.
Love the sepia feel to the shot and the resolution is razor sharp.

This monolith evokes also the ages of megalithic civilization as well as "2001 a space oddity" by Stanley Kubrick. It seems to reign like a king over the wide open land. A superb monochrome. BV.

Wow, flat as far as the eye can see. This monument must have been a welcome sight for those hardy pioneers traveling West. Terrific textures in the rock and lovely tones in this outstanding photo.
