The "Devils Post Pile"

The cross sections fracture into a rough square.They slough off and pile up against the base of the mountain.I understand that people come from other parts of the world to see this phenomena. It is located in Mammoth Lakes,CA.

Their is a similar Basalt outcrop on Mt Cargill in Dunedin, called the Organ Pipes. ~v~
