Commemorative sculpture

This full size bronze sculpture commemorates a sit-in that took place in Wichita during the 60's. It must have taken courage as I understand Wichita was insular and not open to change at the time.

the person in the middle seems a key figure...the quiet defiance of the civil rights movement certainly highlighted the idiotic prejudices that had to be faced down..
