The supreme master of the North Atlantic air-space. Gannets, like Fulmars, are able to survive on salt water alone and they can stay at sea for months at a time. Similar to Albatrosses and Petrels, they ride the updrafts produced by wave action and can glide for hours on out-stretched wings in search for concentrations of Herring and Mackerel.
