Tradition in Hessen on the 1 May holiday is to hike through the vineyards south of Frankfurt. Throngs of hikers attend, and enjoy tasting wine at stops along the path. This year, Kristin and I hiked the Bergstrasse with a group of friends--Katie, Kerstin, Joachim, Jonathan and Stuart.
