Walk around New Lanark & Falls of Clyde - Mar 2010.
A walk with the West of Scotland University Wee Campus Walker’s on Sunday 28th March 2010 from the New Lanark visitor centre through the Falls of Clyde Wildlife Reserve.
Located on the reserve is Britain's first Hydro-Electric Power Station. Bonnington Power Station was constructed in 1926 by the Clyde Valley Electrical Power Co. It is still in use today, operated by Scottish Power. It has the capacity to generate 11 megawatts (MW) harnessing the power of the Bonnington and Corra Linn waterfalls.
