I think it is a moth and the usual incubation before emergence is two weeks.

I think I have one of these. It is about an inch and a half long. We live in Southern Indiana. When will it emerge from the chrysalid?

I just found one also while cleaning garden debris. I'd like to watch it grow with my kids. Does anyone know if it overwinters? Or what it eats? Thanks for your help.
