Nick,It has a huge,dark bill, suggesting(if it were part shoveler) that it's a male.
However, its tail is not black, a trait that shovelers share with wigeon, and gadwall.
It must be something else than a shoveler x wigeon or shoveler x gadwall. I'd go
through a book on waterfowl that illustrates all the species worldwide.
