The Going to the Sun Road was completed in 1932, and extends 55 miles from the east to west end of Glacier National Park. It is one of America's great highways. The east 22 miles of the road had been closed for nearly 3 weeks due to a forest fire before it reopened the last day we were there. You can see smokey haze and burned trees in some of the photos. All pictures were taken either while our vehicle was moving, or from cutouts on the side of the road.
