Foggy Landing by Mike Parsons

Heathrow Airport

I liked the way the damp air caused bright streaking from the plane lights.

Thanks for the comments.
I did take out much of the colour noise but felt the remaining "texture" was OK. (I used Noiseware with 80% colour / 20% luminance settings).
In fact the result reminded me a lot of old 400 ASA colour print film grain.

Bruce has a good point. Maybe I was too quick to equate noise = bad.
I actually had tried saving this shot and noise ninja-ing it. The sky was smoothed considerably, but the middle of the lights on the plane did become more like blobs, and some of the definition in the halos was lost.
So, let me flip-flop on the noise suggestion - maybe I have a career in politics ahead of me :)

I like this one. The noise is not a problem for me. Matter of fact, I think it adds something to the picture; the grain is almost fabric like. -- Bruce

Cool shot. The composition works well and I agree that the light streaks are a nice element. I think you did a good job getting this much detail out of the plane despite the bright oncoming lights.
IMO I think a dose of noise reduction would help.
