Mike,
great capture. you captured this with the best possible light to bring out the most detail in this amazing brick work.

Wow - really fine brick work there ! Enhanced contrast works in this case to emphasize the patterns. Good one !

Thanks for the useful suggestions - here's my 2nd attempt.
I agree with the pigeon comment - the bird just had to go!
I've adjusted the cropping so it's slightly off centre.
I've also increased the contrast and sharpening to bring out the brickwork. The harsher shadows created are acually truer to the lighting on the day - it was very strong low sunlight.
Mike.

Really fascinating chimneys placed in an effective composition. I think the cropping is well selected. The small organic object (pigeon) is a bit disturbing for me in this purely architectural scene. MCsaba

Mike,
A very nice combination of texture, lines and color. Like Jeffry, I was wondering about a different crop, but not to bring it any "closer" - taking a bit off the left would get the subject a bit off center while still leaving the nice framing of the roodtops. For me, if the subject is too centered, shot seems a bit too static most of the time.
A good start to the comp.

Facinating brickwork on the stacks. Nice diagonal composition. At first I was wondering about cropping in a little closer, but the roof lines add more diagonal framing and also tell us more about what we are seeing. I think the bird is a pigeon. JeffryZ

I'm mezmerized by the brick patterns! Excellent detail captured beautifully. I would have used a bit of the PS CS shadow/highlight filter on the edges of the gables in lower left & right corners. OT: Is the bird some sort of falcon? Is it real or is it there to prevent pidgons from roosting?
