Thanks for the comments again! Jean-Louis, I also tried some versions with more DOF, but in the end i preferred this one, because I thought the isolated sharp part gives a better point of interest.

Bracket,

Have you checked how it looks with more DOF?
I imagine the super sharp of the center carrying to the edge and really "cutting" the colors clean.

I found the smudges on the knife to be a bit distracting. I would have cloned them out.

Regardless, a great shot!

This is brilliant. If the description wasn't there I would never know it was knife.

I love how it snaps back and forth between a flatened abstract and a three-d object.
It really has an edge to it!

Thanks a lot for your comments! Actually this is a normal knife. I put some red paper behind it and some yellow paper to the right of it which is reflected on the side of the knife. The shot was taken with a closeup lens and wireless flash.

I like this immensly. It appears to change as my thoughts about it change, eg, first glance, it looks like a zipper, up close I see it as a gear or perhaps a saw. Whatever it is it doesn't matter. Colors go so well with the composition.

Georg, great minimalistic abstract that satisfies the theme very nicely. The colours and the curve are great. My only suggestion is to think about cleaning up the scrathes in the yellow section for a cleaner result.

Very clean and minimal, bracket, just how I like it ;-). The minimal DoF adds a nice touch to the reflections. This one certainly draws the attention and keeps it. Congrats !
