Good thinking out-of-the-box here! Good composition and I also like how yoou placed the light source, feeling the frame with the shadow. I think I might have liked to see some more contrast on this picture with near white background. Nevertheless, its a great entry!

Great original idea! As always you seem a master of lighting. I agree that both in this series suffer a bit from taking a shot of your monitor. A clever idea and well done I must add!

But why not shot the brush and paste to that picture just the toolbox from the screen? The idea is good anyway. MCsaba

Thanks for the comments, kinega and ord.
I wasn't quite sure if taking a screen capture would be in accordance with the rules (picture taken with KM camera) and so on. So I decided to go shoot the screen.

I like this one better than the slice image, the brush has a really nice curve to it. I don't find the grain to be much of a problem, except that it makes it a bit hard to appreaciate the beautiful blue-colored shadows from the bristles. I wonder if you could cut out the tool pallet from this one, and paste it into the original image of the brush.

Excellent idea, I like this. Should have used a screen dump rather than photographing screen though.

Lack of detail is because this is a close up photograph of the picture on my CRT monitor. What you get if you look at the fullsize image is a lot of small red green and blue pixels. If you resize it they will eventually average to the original colors. Because the screen is not really high-res the image will also not be. Try and take a macro shot of your monitor and you will see what I mean.

I get your idea, Georg. But why is the pic so grainy/low res ? The compo with nicely curved shadow is great.
