Alien Love Is Da Bomb! by JDU

my house in the suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia

... or should that be Aliens love the bomb? ;^)

I wondered whether I could make something of the orange mains power extension cable and orange card. I played around for a while with various loops of the cable and with the desk lamp shining in from the side until I happened upon this combination of shadows. The cable was self-supporting, ie not stuck in place with anything, and the processing was minimal, close to the least I've ever done for a Challenge entry.

For the title, the cable looks like an alien head to me and the shadow shapes are kind of obvious.

PS This is a metaphor about love, not bombs, although it occurred to me that other possible interpretations could include the one at the start of this caption and love of bombs being an alien concept to some! ;^)

I have to admit I didn't see the alien until I read your explanation. Very creative shot and spot on theme.

Very nice abstract. Excellent shadow rendition that contrast with the shapes.

Very nice! I really like the crossing shadows. I also like the way you have so many levels of orange in here. And love and bombs are not so differnt - both are powerful forces delivered in small packages!
