This is such a wonderful object. Warn things have great textures and color patterns. You managed to capture it in a terrific way. Very pleasing image.

G'day Marc. As I said with your other red painted image, I prefer that one, but this is also good.
The texture of the wood holds more interest in this one than in the other one and is well complemented by the worn paint for an effective worn, rustic feel. The diagonal composition is a good idea. Rightly or wrongly, I would have cropped and/or rotated to run the cracks in the opposite corners, or perhaps put the centreline of the central plank to run from corner to corner. If possible, I may also have been on the lookout for a significant knot to place in one of the ROT focus points, perhaps the lower left or upper right one in this case to balance the diagonal that already has the eye running along the planks from corner to corner to cover that part of the image. Of course, if there was such a knot, the paint around that area of the subject may have been worn in a less interesting way, so perhaps this was the best possible choice for the image anyway. Plenty to look at here. Cheers, John
