Good luck Tandaina. Moving subjects with shallow DOF are a challenge for sure. Perhaps others dont mind the leaf tips being cut off, but my preference is to have them whole. You have chosen a good subject. Cheers, John

John, thanks for the tips. I had a hard time with this one, the wind refused to stop moving the leaves. After reading your comments I went back with a wider lens that let me get a slightly wider crop. I am however having trouble with "light wash", not sure what the technical term is. I'll keep working on this one, its definately challenging but I really like the concept and the glow along the leaves.

G'day Tandaina. I like the concept, but would have preferred not to have the tips of the leaves truncated. Good colours and lighting well supported by the shallow DOF, although that also reduces the detail in the upper part of the image. I would have preferred this one with the camera more closely aligned to the plane of the leaf to allow for good detail throughout even with the wide aperture, although I don't know what that would have done for the perspective of the leaf in the final image. Cheers, John
