Thanks for the compliment. I have worked for many years as an electrical engineer using primarily my left brain. I have recently determined to make an effort to develop my right brain more and photography seems to be a providing a great way to work on that. Following the intuitions that have been long ignored is proving fun and interesting. Wish I had more time to spend with the camera.
I spoke to the city's engineer in charge of the road project. He claimed they tried very hard to save the tree, but the layout of the underground utilities made it impossible. He also insisted that they investigated the nest in it and found it had not been used in some time. Guess I just identified with this old tree too much. I better keep something in my nests.
