Green No More by jerrydd

Abandon by its leaves, before the storm and the impending construction it stands old and without a friend, clinging to its hope for spring.

See my third entry for the sad conclusion to this story. Six months from now will find his former spot buried under the concrete median for a four lane street.

My favorite kind of light- the sun bursting cleanly through to light an object silloetted against the dark sky! JeffryZ

Nice shot. I probably would have cropped it to the right a little more. The sky really sets it off. Be interesting to the same shot 6 months from now when everything greens up (if that happens). - Tom

Great shot, plenty of drama between the lighting on the tree and the storm clouds in the background

Jerry,
To echo what others have already said, the sky makes a perfect contrast to the golden colour of the tree. I really like this one.
Cheers, Matt.

Looks much better now that the compression artifacts are gone. A fine image.

Fred,

Thanks for the input. It did look better before the compression. I'm still learning this PP stuff. I had not done any noise removal and didn't realize how much compression could exaserbate noise. I just posted a second go processing it. RAW->MRWF->Noiseware

Hi Jerry,

An interesting take on the theme. I like the "feathery" feeling of the tree, and the contrast with the sky

Nice colors here. The contrast between the sky and the tree is very effective. Perhaps the image is a tad too saturated. It's also a bit to heavily compressed which makes a lot of compression artifacts/pixelation visible. Especially in the sky. But on the whole a nice image.
