Thanks for all your comments, and thanks Azure for the interesting question. The white halo, is due to the fact that this was shot using a mirror placed about 20 cm (or 8 in) from the camera. From every mirror you get two reflections: A weak one at the front of the glass and the strong one at the back of the glass, which is covered with some metal. If you are far away you won't notice, but being this near these two reflections hit the sensor at different places. Shortly, the "white halo" is from the reflection at the mirror's front. Hope I explained this sufficiently well.

Works well as a self-portrait.
I assume the light "halo" around the white lettering is compression artifacts. Or am I missing something ?

Now we are talking in terms of reflection. Very nice concept, and making it disappear in the background was a good idea. You should update the faces of MTF!
