Stairway to Darkness - Tom

Flash shot from my upper floor. Crop and bump contrast to brighten reflected light from posts.

Great composition and colour. My one critique would be the glare of the flash on the wood near the "hub" takes away the darkness.

G'day Tom. Nice shot and well composed. I like the wood tones and the reflections from the posts. Thanks for drawing my attention to them as they do add something. Cheers, John

Thanks all. That's about a 5 foot square, so I had my arm out about 30" (leaning down from the railing above so I could see the LCD). Those stairs are no fun for groceries, but we do have outside stairs for larger items. I was surprized to see something in the house that square!

Help I'm getting dizzzzzzzy! Nice shot! I also like the wood tones. The rails make a border in themselves. Just glad I don't have to move furniture up and down those stairs. Would like to know where the camera was to take the picture... it looks like you were hanging from the ceiling ((;>)

Terific abstract, many repeating elements.

What a great graphical composition. The warmth of the wood does the rest for me. Well done

Great image, Tom. You've really succeeded with the compo in this one. Nice colors too.

That "lower" wall goes up to a railing on the 3rd floor, no ropes, but hanging out a bit to get it "centered". Thanks for the comments!

Were you hanging on a rope from the ceiling when shooting this one ;-) ?
Great composition, I like how the railing works as a frame here.

wonderful abstract composition and the grain and colour of the wood is very appealing! looks a nice place to live.
