Electric Sky by John down under

Jenkins Reserve, Salisbury, South Australia

This electricity tower is located in the reserve I cycle through on the way to and from work. The birds don't seem to mind it being there and I get this nice warm feeling every time I pass through there ... :o)

Thanks for all the comments. I photographed the outside of this one for the Abstracts Challenge, but it didn't really do much for me. However, when I really wanted to emphasise looking up to the sky, I took a different perspective and liked what I saw. Cheers, John

Lovely rich colours and shadows. The thumbnail doesn't do this shot justice. I'm also impressed as I suspect to the unsearching eye, a pylon may not have looked very attractive.

very interesting composition, the light and shadow on the structure provides subtle
contrast and leads the eye upwards and the strong blue sky is an ideal foil.

G'day JDU - echo to Fred's comments - the strong angles for great composition (and u got all the insulators ;-), and the strong contrasts make for a great down to up pic. thanx heaps. adrianox

Great image. I love the composition of the lines and angles. It would have done well in the "abstract" comp too. - Marc
