Yes it is venetian blinds. In Austria we call them "Jalousie", which is the french word for jealousy. I assume they got the name from jealous husbands closing them to hinder other men from looking at their wives. Thanks for the frame suggestion, Alain, I will try that out.

Great B&W for the opening shot. I love the gradual transition from white to black in your image. I have the feeling though that it would still look better if was framed with stark white or black (that may be be partly due to the way it is presented now on the standard pbase background)
