Gee, thanks guys! At the risk of shooting myself in the foot, I didn't think all that much of this shot when I first looked at it. Frankly, I thought the gallery looked a bit empty so I thought, "What the heck?"
I worry that my recent forays into still life and portraiture might have "sterilized" my ability to shoot from the hip. I guess when a photojournalist is covering a news story, he/she cannot worry about cluttered backgrounds and such. They must capture the moment, so to speak, and cannot concern themselves (primarily) with composition, etc. So maybe I have to force myself to go back to the "hip shot" from time to time so as not to lose my sight of spontaniety.
Again, thanks for the positive comments! Oh, by the way, there are two dogs here. Hard to tell, I know in the flurry of activity. Here they are in a more docile posture:
Well done Bobby. The sense of explosive energy is evident here and you have dealt with the difficult lighting very well. I even like the framing with the meeting of the heads at the top left ROT focus point. Is that three dogs, or does the one on the right have two heads? ;o) Cheers, John
