Nice capture. With the slight sutter delay of the minolta A1, this is a fantastic shot. You really have to anticipate when to take the shot so you don't miss the top of the hurdle. I have a hurdler in my family and I know this from missing a few good shots.

Nice catch Don! Fits the theme very well. The new crop works quite better

Don,
Great expression of the hurdler's face - utter concentration. Fits the theme quite nicely.

A nice strong sporting image. A moment well caught.
Well seen and captured and very strong on determination/energy in face and body posture.

cbses,

LOL... I know what you mean about chewing up CF space. I also shoot for the school newspaper, yearbook, etc. and take care of the school's web soooo a lot of pictures are taken. It seems that one has to travel quite far for many games and events and most of our students don't have the economic means to travel. BTW she did win the heat and went on to win her event.

Nice photo Don, and a good tip from JDU (although a lot of times the other runners don't cooperate and you have a stray leg in the space).
I have 2 young track "stars" of my own (not sure they exhibit the same "energy" though) -I chew up a lot of CF space with continuous advance shooting.
Did she win?

John Down Under.

Thanks, your correct. Will have to remember that the next time.

Good one Don. Perfectly timed and with a look on the face of the hurdler to emphasise the sudden release of energy nails the theme. I agree about the added depth coming from the runner in the background. However, ideally there would be some open space at the left of the frame to give the runner somewhere to go and to lead viewers' gaze. Cheers, John

Excellent, Don! It looks like that last push before the home stretch! Perfect for this theme :)

Great photo, energy in motion for sure. The look on her face- the determination.

Alright Don, quick off the line with an image for us. And a fine one at that. Nice action shot! The runner in the background gives depth to the picture.
