Heavyheartedness Has A Hard Edge by Don Lynch

West Haven, CT USA (Long Island Sound)

I watched this young lady for over a half hour. She never moved once! So as not to disturbe her I used the ACT-100 teleconverter.

Powerful scene. Really invites one to think what is going on in the young girl's head. The angle of the rocks/fence in relation to the horizon certainly fits the theme.

I love these kind of images with a single person in it, complementing the environment. I guess it's because the viewer easily 'identifies' with the person and thus gets more involved. Congrats with this fine capture !

Certainly looks the jilted lover. What could she be thinking? Exams, family, boyfriends, the next photo competition? Guess she'll never know she's a star. Nicely done.

Thanks everybody!

I don't know if this image really convays the STRONG feeling of forlornness I felt when looking at her along the waters edge. But, I tried!

ohh, what an emotional image. The subject may be on a linear edge of the fence/ wall/water, but I view this as her being also on an emotional edge. Good capture, and kudos to you for not disturbing her.

Nice composition. It really conveys the mood. It is interesting the way she was squeeze between the horizon and the line of the fence -- that seems to add even more weight/stress to the mood of the picture.

A powerful photo, IMO.
Evokes strong emotion.Indeed she could be on the edge.
