I have replaced the original photo with this one. Barry very kindly made a few suggestions which I decided to follow, I hope it has made a difference.

G'day Rene,
Fantastic shot and perfect subject for this theme. Love it. My only suggestion would be to consider different framing to open up the right more so that the subject is slanting towards that open area rather than being quite so central.
Cheers, John

Wow! Really jumps out at you. Strong colors go well with the striking costume.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments. I am sure this lady would love to hear them, especially as it took her over 2 hours to complete the makeup.
Kind Regards

Thanks Kimberly. There were 6 of these ladies all dressed in a similar fashion dancing on this particular day, it was quite amazing.
Kind Regards

Hello Barry. Thank you for your very fine comments and I decided to take your advice. I hope you think there is an improvement, unfortunately my pp skills leave a lot to be desired. I don't have Photoshop, but will be buying Adobe Elements 2 in the next few weeks (can't afford the full version just at the moment). Thanks again for your advice.
Regards
Rene

Fantastic subject!!!

Rene, this is an excellent photo for the category. But IMO some post processing could really make it sing. If you use PS, some levels or curves adjustment to improve contrast, some saturation boost to emphasize the color and a little unsharp mask to finish it off.

best regards, Barry
