Hi Andy,

Great shot! Just the perfect composition and a very good sense of stillness and alone. When I see these nice IR shots (this is IR right?), I definetely feel the temptation to get a Sony cam or a D7 to complement my A1...One of these days.

From John down under:

Hi Andy,

Nice pic. This is easily my favourite of your three. The lone gull does appear to be quite alone, despite the other interesting elements in this pic, as the place is deserted. Your choice to desaturate works well with the picture and the theme. I wasn't sure I liked the far horizon cutting the picture exactly in half across the middle, until I decided that the much stronger near horizon was really more dominant, with the low rocks on the right and the lower roofline of the gazebo on the left. Plenty of interesting shapes and textures in this one.

I usually check each day to make sure that pic dimensions and file sizes are within the reasonable limits advertised in our rules. I resized two of your pics down to 800 wide as they were bigger, although not by too much. However, we are limiting our file sizes to 150kB +10% to give about 170kB max, so I compressed all three of your pics to within those limits. That saves download time and storage space for everyone's benefit.

Thanks again for your post about the STF challenges. I like what you guys have done. I look forward to seeing some more of your excellent work in future MTF challenges. Why not get an A2 to complement your 828 so you can become a fully eligible MTF member?! ;o)

Cheers, John
