I think I remarked last time I saw this photo on the similarity of this pile o' pallets to Big Ben: uncanny! It surely is an accomplished photo.

It's for the traditional November 5th Guy Fawkes celebrations, the day when the English parliament nearly got blown up:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes_Night
There was a "guy" (a stuffed lifesize figure) on the bonfire, but it quickly disintegrated.

I think Winchester must have the biggest bonfire in the UK! That is a wonderful shot - I can almost feel the heat radiating out of my screen.
