I got up early and crawled out of a cozy warm bed to search out a sunrise. Twice I hit the snooze button as listen to the voice inside telling my how cold it was outside. Twenty-five minutes later I arrived at the Arapahoe Natural Area just as the colors began their morning show. I grabbed my tripod and started to set up my camera when I realized I had taken off my RRS mount and had no way to mount the camera. So I decided to sit near the waters edge and watched the colors. It was wonderful! With no wind the water took on the look of glass. I watched as two geese landed on the far left of me which caused a series of gentle ripples to move across the pond. It was too much for me so I went ahead and took seven shots, handheld, at ISO 800. In the time span of about an hour I had forgotten about the warm bed and the snooze alarm. And, it really wasn’t that cold.
