This is not that good an image, but will post it anyway. My friend Claire informed me about five Trumpeter Swans that were hanging around some cattail ponds. I jumped in the car and drove over there. The open water is quite a ways from shore and even with an 80-400mm this was a large as I could get. I do like the composition of the swans but would like to have cropped some of the ice in the foreground. I will try again in the morning.

Isn't it wonderful to see something that was so endangered a few decades ago. They winter near me so I do see them quite often, however it's hard to get close. I have an image athttp://www.pbase.com/image/25372380
