Peter Laurence, double-lung transplant recipient, passed away September 30th, 2007. He was the chair of the Lung Transplant Open golf tournament. Peter had cystic fibrosis and survived 6 years following his transplant. But during that time he used the extra time he had been given by "giving back" in a big way, promoting organ & tissue donation awareness and raising money for lung transplant research at Toronto General Hospital. A total of $63,000 was raised in the 3 years Peter was chair of the tournament. He became well known for his efforts to help advance lung transplantation and will be sadly missed. More than that, he was my very good friend and it was my honor to present a tribute to Peter at a ceremony at Toronto General Hospital November 28th, 2007. These are photos from that presentation.
