I observed this mother for quite some time in her natural
environment in Northern Canada at the Hudson Bay
where I lived on the Tundra for 5 days. At one time
the mother felt threatened by another bear and she charged
right at him - lurching towards us and coming to a full stop
as she recognized the other bear turning away.
She then returned to her cubs and all 3 settled
very close to each other for warmth.
