Insects

I love shooting insects. If you observe their tiny world, you will find a rich melting pot of texture and colour, which is absolutely beautiful.

Starting out with shooting dragonflies in July '03, I eventually progressed on to making butterflies the main choice of macro photography subject matter for the following reasons. Firstly it fufilled my primary aim of photography which was to capture and view a variery of texture and colour. Secondly, shooting butterflies is very challenging as they are very sensitive to movement, so everytime I get a good picture, I feel like a hunter who has successfully stalked and got its prey.
