I lived in Township from 1969 to 1972 - corner lot , top of the hill next to Rana Pretap Statue- memories of lots of childhood families- Borgs, Pattersons, Keenans, Pankes, Scabraks,etc- going back in March 2013 with my middle son Brock- just in time for Holi!!!!

Thanks Peter & Jackie for such wonderful photographs. This is Saket now pursuing Chemical Engineering at IIT Bombay. I stayed in Rawatbhata for 13 beautiful years before my father got transferred to Mumbai. I am indebted to you for refreshing my wonderful memories.... Rawatbhata is the place I have always wanted to be...I still miss the Greenry of Township... the Warmth of People and ofcourse all my friends !!!!!! Rawatbhata You Rock \m/ !!!!!!!

Hello, it is a surreal experience to see my memories of township appear as photographs!I have searched the internet for these images in vain, until now! My family settled there from 1970 to 1979. My dad trained with the CANDU reactor group in Ontario and then moved to Kotah to commission RAPP. 'The readymoney shop' instantly came back to mind and the 25paise 'eclairs', candy with soft chocolate centers they sold in that strip mall. I attended school there and fondly remember my friends; Seema Sachdev, Abhay Johoree, Abhijit Sighroy, Naresh and his two brothers. We eventually moved to the H6/1 on top of the hill. I rode my bike for the first time down the road. I hunted for fossils and found one near the canyon.I remember the smelly monkeys that would make strange sounds as they foraged in the trees. We have stayed in touch with many of the Canadian families that were there. We are now back in Canada. A heartfelt thanks for this fabulous trip down memory lane. warm regards Ajantha Jayabarathan

Bloody hell! Really bloody hell! This site is last place where I would expect to see so many pics and each picture is with a story in my memory. I remember having being all of these places a 100 times if not less. that shopping center that dam, even that bajaj and those dudh wallas.... so pleasing to even look at. Jackie & Peter you guys really have done one hell of a job and took an effort to put these here. I am born n bought up in Rawatbhat lived from my birth to early 90s Now you can imagine what these pictures could mean to me. Even going through the comments I can recognize almost all names yes I know Prateek Natekar, Mayank/Shasank (Tony, Johnny and Mony) :-D besides these guys I know Vikram Goyal too we were classmates. I think Vikram if you are same Mota guy then I have some old scores to settle with you man.. you were monitor of our class. Really I am now too far from India for almost 15 years now but seeing these pictures and all names took me really 15 years behind... my first beer, my first....let us now go in detail. It was exciting enough seeing the pics of the colony ,recreation center , RAPS Dam, Submersible bridge and Rawat Bhata ...but nothing could have made me happier than to see my childhood home..our family ( Surendars ) also stayed in the same house you stayed in earlier ...H/6/9 . Great job, Pete/Jackie for posting golden images....Pictures were as live as it could be and were really heart-touching...Born/Raised in RB for 15yrs....spent my childhood days till 1990... I along with my brother (Shashank) studied in AECS-2 (old) & AECS-3 (new) which were then in NTC colony. It was really good old days and before dad (doctor) got transferred to Tarapur (Mumbai suburbs)...truly unforgetable moments of life....Since 1998, I am residing in California (San Jose) working for a semiconductor wireless company, Atheros Communications.....Indeed Rawat-Bhata is one of the best heavenly places on this planet and last time i visited with my kid was in Fall of 2005...If anybody recognize me on this page, pls. send email to mkshringi@yahoo.com -- Regards, Mayank SHRINGI.

Thanks for posting these pictures. I lived in the township, 1969 to 1977, Never been there since. I greatly enjoyed seeing these pictures. Extremely good coverage, both from 2001 and the old scanned pictures. 69-73: H3A6, 73-77:H5A9. Now a Canadian resident of Windsor, Ont. God Bless!!

Hello one and all, This is Lalit Kumar Karira writing this note reg. Rawatbhata, first of all I would like to thank the authors for posting these memorable pics of my birthplace Rawatbhata. I have lived in this town for almost 24 yrs of my unforgettable life (My parents still live here). After seeing these pics all my memories have come alive. Few of the pics are from that era when I was not in this universe (I mean I was not born) but even these have added a pinch of salt in a perfect lunch. Hi all, this is Amit Pundir here. This is the colony where I spent the best days of my life. In all these snaps, I try to locate myself, somewhere around swimming pool or the garden, tennis court where I played everything but tennis for almost 10 years. All these snaps make me highly nostalgic and I wish I could relive those days and never ever grow up. I am a Canadian that lived in RAPP township from 1970-1972 during the construction of the nuclear power plants. My father was the head teacher of the school for the children of the Canadian engineer's families. These pictures brought back a lot of memories for me. By coincidence I will be returning to India next month to visit for the first time since I left in 1972.

Iam really surprized to see all the images, as I have lived in this town from the last 21 years, and pics of RAPP township were very close to my heart as I have been living in this colony from the last the 6-7 years now. It was a delight to see all the Rawatbhata images, as its been a long time Iam not able to roam around this town, except the months I visit my parents as Iam based in N.delhi now. Good Work Dude!
