Author's Note: We have received several emails from people claiming that these are HORSE tails, not YAK tails. (There are nine of them representing the nine tribes of Chinngis Khaan). It would seem to make sense given the Mongolian love of the horse. However, we've done a little research on the web and found reference to both horse and yak tails. When we were in Mongolia we were told they were yak tails so, unless someone can point us to some authoritative documentation, we're sticking with yak tails.
