2006 Sammy Award

SAMMY (Scholastic, Athletic, Milk, Moustache of the Year)
50,000 High School Seniors applied for 25 $7,500 scholarships.
To make the cut down to the last 500, the students are graded on 30% Athletics, 30% Scholastics, 20% community service and 20% leadership.
To make the cut from 500 to 75, a short essay is added.
Finally, the last 75 are judged by a group of accomplished sports figures.
