Andy, small strips of aluminum are very easy to work on as it's bendable, easy to cut and drill.

Thanks Andy, for your comments. I am still using the same bracket after 6 years! Now I got a new bike and I'm using it on the new bike. The only thing to be careful is the cable connection to the GPS as that's the weak link. I used electrical tape and wrap it on the GPS so it doesn't move.

Hi this is really a great solution for the lousy plastic bracket I have!
I've read a few more reviews of gps mounts (bestmotorcyclegpsreviews.com/motorcycle-gps-mount-review/) but this steel bracket looks the best!
I'll make my own and see if it works as great as it looks like! Thanks anyway! Andy.
