Truth or Consequences

The first time we came here, it was because of a vehicle breakdown; we stayed overnight at Caballo Lake State Park and enjoyed a trail among the creosote bushes (and didn't get any photos).

The second time, we found Elephant Butte State Park full already and were heading for Caballo Lake, but found a perfectly lovely, flat, graveled pullout
about halfway along the little road between the parks. Now that we know about it, that's where we'll AIM to spend any future travel night if we're near it.
