We watched in sorrow as this handsome building, bustling with activity for decades,
was knocked down in a few minutes. Its older tradition is honored with a newer one: each year's
new students march up these steps and through the arch to symbolize the start of their University education,
and graduates march out in the other direction.
A new note: In early summer of 2019, a nest of several thousand honey bees was removed
(and, I am told, re-hived) from behind a wooden portion of this relic.
