The seat, Hardwick Hall, Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Hardwick Hall, Chesterfield, Derbyshire

This is probably my most 'successful' photo ever and, two years after taking it, I decided to return to it to see if I could improve on it
in any way. I think I have ~ a little. I managed to slightly darken the almost washed-out area of grass in the centre of the shot and
slightly darken the sky. I also cloned out one or two stray bits of foliage but, essentially, it's the same shot.

Amazingly to me, it's had some 66216 views and 51 ratings on photo.net; 2396 views on usefilm.com, where it received an 'Editor's
Choice' award; and it was made Kodak's worldwide 'Picture of the Day' on May 14, 2004. However, it seemed to attract little interest
when I uploaded it in my early days on pbase, so I thought I'd give it another shot.

If you like it, I'd be glad of your vote. Many thanks!!

And, thanks for just looking!

Chris

Very nice composition; the lines, shapes, colors, shadow, and light take the eye into what is to be seen beyond the path.

This really is an amazing shot. Quite a presence to it! The framing is great. I know the feeling about pbase, sometimes your favorite photos dont get any attention. But as long as you feel good about it thats all that matters :)
