The morning landing at the animal-rich Brown Bluff is cancelled
when very strong Katabatic winds came up. These winds are
similar to the Föhn winds we had in South Georgia and also
the Santa Ana winds we have in southern California.
Continuing towards the Antarctic Peninsula, we pass a huge
tabular ice shelf that originally was the size of Rhode Island.
All large icebergs are tracked and these grounded pieces of
14-year old Iceberg B15Y have resulted today in 26 pieces
each over 10 miles in length.
