There are several outdoor religious shrines in Bangkok such as this Erawan Shrine
which was located near our hotel and attracted a large crowd each night.

The Erawan Shrine is a Hindu spirit house displaying the four faces of Buddha
statue and is known as a very lucky and powerful shrine. Worshipers offer
flowers, incense, and candles to the spirit as well as food and drink.
The air was heavy with incense.
