These pictures were taken by my father after a tornado measuring 1.7 miles wide tore through this small town in Kansas.


Winds were estimated to be in excess of 250 miles per hour.

Moving, touching, yet as Marisa says....beautiful.
The photos show a sensitive journalistic approach, and would not be out of place as illustrations in a magazine. Very well done.

Hard to fathom the sheer magnitude of this from just viewing
it on a screen. Must be jaw-dropping to actually be standing there
among the destruction.

I’m aware that a tornado is always troubling for people involved in it, even though they didn’t get injured in any way…
But I cannot help perceiving the wild beauty of this series of images and to see them as a purely aesthetical point of view.
