This is a Great Blue Heron or Tricolor Heron -- I am not sure. All of my pictures of this particular type of heron do not come out the way I'd like. It's a beautiful bird, but I find it hard to capture his colors without exposure problems.

I agree with what Lee said that this shot would've been better using the thirds rule, but it was the only shot I had that I somewhat liked of this particular bird.
