I made this photograph from the USS Hugh Purvis, DD 709. The USS Brownson, DD 868, was refueling from a tanker.

I was a guest passenger aboard the Hugh Purvis for six weeks with no duties, other than staying out of peoples way when the crew went to Quarters. These photographs were made with my personal camera.
