Thomas J. Beatty in 1960. (The tall guy in front.)

FT Walton Beach, FL

NOTE April, 29, 2011. FOUND HIM

Thomas Jerry Beatty's son has emailed saying that his father T.J. is retired and living in western N.C. I am looking forward to making contact with him.

T.J. called me in Mid August 2011. His voice sounded like he was in his twenties, instead of his 70's. We had a nice chat, and I hope to talk more with him. He just lives about a two hour drive from where I do in East Tennessee.

I made this photo while we were out in the gulf on a snapper fishing boat. Do not remember catching much, but it was a nice trip out of Fort Walton Beach.

I was stationed at NAAS Whiting late 1958 into 1960. At one time I was in security and barracksed (sp)above the camera lab and knew them all, but time erased most of the names. As I recall, there was a "year book" published in 1959/1960. Have you a copy? It may help you. After security, I went to outlying crash crew then to the newly formed VT-2 as a plane captain. Finished navy tour on board USS Shangri-La out of Mayport, FL
