Kenneth O'Bryan was the PH1 in the Whiting Field Photolab when I arrived there in the fall of 1959. Kenneth was also the camera repair man, and he stayed busy keeping the 4x5 speed graphics in working condition. He also helped all of the jumoir members by holding small afternoon classes from time to time. Every one liked Kenneth, and we hated to see him transfered out.
I refound him in early June of 2010, and we had a nice phone conversation. He still sounds thirty on the phone, but I know that he is in his late seventies. Kenneth, and his wife, now live in Altamont Springs, FL, just north of Orlando. I hope to visit with him one of these days.
This photo shows Kenneth with two airman photographers, seated beside him, and setting on the work table is Gloria O'Flaherty, PH2. (I Might have misspelled her last name.) I last saw her walking down the side walk near the destroyer piers in Newport RI, some time in 1962. If anyone knows where she is at, or has information about her, send me an email.
Gloria and Kenneth helped me out a lot during my first months in the lab.
This photograph was made back in the print finishing room.
