I'd hoped for more fogginess in the background, but I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Very nice shot and looks inviting to those who love fishing and boating.

It's really a nice shot, Mark. There's almost a water color quality to it, which is very appealing. You better get yourself a beret for Christmas.
: )

Great composition; nice reed and reflection

Hmm, they are both nice, but sorry Mark, I like this one. The thought ran through my mind to crop even this one a bit on the right to a point just left of the second bird in on the near pier, the white one. But hey, I realize that a photograph is strictly an expression of the photographer who knew just want they saw and wanted to convey. So it isn't really what we think. It's what you saw and wanted us to see. If we consider that truth, then your choice is the best one, because you feel it conveys what appealed to you. I know, I am talking in circles. But after reminding myself of these thoughts, I feel its what you thought that counts to me.

Mark...both are nice but I like this one best because it's closer and not so much water..also no condo distraction on the right.

Both are great shots but this one is my favorite.

Who knew that humble little Lake Merced could look so good? ;)

This one for me, not sure why, perhaps it's closer and not so much water in it.

This is my favorite of the two. I just tend to lean more to close up photos. Very well shot!

Beautiful composition and scene.

Very nice scene. I agree with Denise, this is my favorite of the two. I like that the subject seems more defined with this closer in view. Also like that the condos on the right side aren't showing in this one.
